Chapter History

Sigma Kappa was founded at Colby College in 1874, and our chapter, Beta Epsilon, was founded at Louisiana Tech University in 1940. Sigma Kappa strives to be more than just an organization by promoting on campus involvement, leadership opportunities and academic achievement. Our Sigma Kappa membership gives members life long connections along with giving members an incredible college experience.

Sigma Kappa is a highly regarded sorority in the Greek community at Louisiana Tech University.  Our sisterhood is strong and diverse.  We are proud to have many of our sisters involved in various organizations on Louisiana Tech's campus.   Sigma Kappa sisters are always there for each other.  We strive to live by our commitment: Live with Heart.  Our sisters are dedicated to upholding high academic standards, while embodying our values: friendship, leadership, service, and personal growth.

This year at Sigma Kappa's National Convention, the Beta Epsilon chapter received the Standards of Excellence Award, awarding Beta Epsilon the title of a one star chapter.  We also earned the Outstanding Public Relations Award for our chapter!
